BUGLAS (Bundesverband Glasfaseranschluss) is the German federal association for optical fiber access. Founded in 2009 BUGLAS has ever since been promoting Fiber to the Building/Home (FttB/H) as the only future-proof and sustainable broadband access technology to meet the ever increasing demand for high bandwidths. The association’s current 75 member companies have partially been deploying FttB/H-access in Germany already since 1999 and still are the drivers of the fiber roll-out. They connect private households as well as enterprises looking for superfast internet connections. BUGLAS aims for a stable legislative and regulatory framework which grants infrastructure competition and allows the necessary long-term investments into FttB/H-networks.
The Computer Measurement Group for Austria and Eastern Europe is an association which promotes the exchange of technical and management information among ICT professionals through working groups, conferences and study tours. The working Group “Open Access Networks” was formed in 2009 and is focused on the development of OAN concepts. It provides a forum for discussing technical, commercial and strategic aspects of OPEN ACCESS and supports organizations with the implementation of OAN projects.
The CREDO (Cercle de Réflexion et d’Etude pour le Développement de l’Optique) Association brings together the main players, professionals and experts involved in the business of Very High Speed Optical Fiber Networks (FTTH).
As a major exchange platform between industrials, operators and local authorities, CREDO is recognized as a proactive "forum" permanently fed by up-to-date contributions and valuable return on experience reports from its members. Today, it is recognized as a strong and expertized body in the field of optical fiber technology.
In twenty years, the Association has published thirteen technical guides, intended to bring valuable information to the FTTH environment. More particularly, the guides are also addressing local authorities to support their commitment for the deployment of Very High Speed Optical Fiber Networks in their territories. By providing technical benchmarking and state-of-the-art descriptions, CREDO allows them to fully fulfill their mission of digital development of their territory.
In addition to its guide production, CREDO has developed a mobile demonstrator "Le Bus du Très Haut Débit", in partnership with specialized schools and universities, French and European manufacturers and several startups. As a unique concentrate of technology and innovating applications, it is aimed to illustrate neutral, scalable, multi-operator and multi-purpose FTTH networks. The bus is visiting the whole french territory in order to meet the local actors and promote dialogue with the decision makers.

Finnet Association is a central organisation and co-operative forum of local ICT companies. The main objective of the Association is its member companies' lobbying. Another target is to promote the development and co-operation between the members. There are 23 member companies with their subsidiaries and affiliates. The companies employ about 2000 persons. FIRIP - Public Initiative Networks’ Industrials’ Federation
This Federation, born in 2012, currently brings together 160 businesses from the different layers of the public initiative network value “chain”, representing more than 60,000 employees and a global turnover of more than €10 billion for 2014, including a turnover for the public initiative networks sector of more than € 1.5 billion for 2015 representing 7,000 direct employees.

SCTE, Society for Broadband Professionals
Founded in 1945, the SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) is a Learned Society and non-profitmaking organisation aiming to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the global telecommunications industry. It particularly concerns itself with the training/career advancement of technical professionals, awarding accreditation and certification for its members.
SCTE training courses have achieved wide acceptance as the standard for young technicians wishing to enter the field of cable telecommunications and for those wishing to advance their knowledge and career prospects. The SCTE also publishes its quarterly Broadband technical journal, which reaches over 7000 global broadband professionals.
The SCTE stages lecture meetings throughout the year in the UK, Balkans and selected European venues, as well as running an annual Broadband conference and exhibition in eastern Europe. It chairs the British Standards Committee for cable systems and represents the UK at European (CENELEC) and world (IEC) levels.
More than 120 of the telecommunications and service companies which operate in the German market are active in the VATM.
