Max Erdmann participates in:
Max Erdmann pioneered the concept of smartphone-based surveying a decade ago. His work focuses on developing methods that enable modern smartphones to measure, document, and map physical environments directly in the field. By combining mobile sensors, cameras, and digital processing, Erdmann helped demonstrate that widely available mobile devices can perform tasks traditionally carried out with specialized surveying equipment. Today, Vaira is an all-in-one platform for the fully digital documentation of utility construction sites. This includes surveying, service logs, bills of materials, and all additional data required to operate, manage, and bill construction projects. A key highlight and unique selling point of Vaira is its ability – together with partners such as Trimble – to generate highly accurate GPS-positioned 3D scans using a smartphone. These scans are processed within an integrated workflow engine, where both pre-scan and post-scan processes are managed in a single system, significantly accelerating documentation and project workflows.
