Dr. Katarina Tomašević, born in 1976 in Belgrade, graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1999 and earned a master’s degree in Management from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. She defended her Ph.D. in 2022 at the Criminalistics and Police Academy in Belgrade. She worked at the Public Enterprise "Post of Serbia" from 2001 to 2016, advancing from head of service to Director of the Directorate for Mail Services. From 2016 to 2020, she served at the Ministry of the Interior, first as Assistant Minister and later as Chief of Staff to the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. From 2020 to 2022, she was Assistant Minister for Human Resources at the Ministry of Defense. In December 2022, she became Assistant Minister for Information and Telecommunications. She has been an accredited instructor at the National Academy for Public Administration since 2020 and a guest lecturer on Human Resource Management since 2017 at various institutions. From 2020 to 2022, she chaired the Political Council for the implementation of UN Resolution 1325, focusing on gender equality in the security sector. Since 2024, she holds the title of Research Associate at the Institute for Comparative Law.
