Carsten Engelke has been Technical Director at ANGA Der Breitbandverband e.V. since October 2003. At ANGA COM, he is responsible for the technology section of the ANGA COM Congress. After studying electrical engineering, he joined the most significant private cable network operator, URBANA Telekommunikation in Hamburg, in 1996 and moved to Tele Columbus Holding when URBANA was acquired. There, he was heavily involved in the planned takeover of the German cable networks by Deutsche Bank Investor. During that time, he was delegated to Deutsche Bank Investor. He chairs several key working groups at the German regulator and works with Cenelec, DVB, ETSI, and various joint working groups of ETSI/Cenelec involving the European Commission. His focus is on the development of broadband services. He implemented the first Internet projects over coax cable in Germany and led VoIP services to their current success in standardisation. Currently, he is involved in many consulting projects with the federal ministries responsible for accelerated fiber optic expansion, sustainability, and resilience. There, he leads several working groups on these subjects as a consultant.
