Adapting business models in a shifting telecoms industry: How to remain competitive?
25 March 2025
16:00-17:30
Conference Room 4
Session
Introduction to workshop:
by Alexis Bley, Public Affairs Manager, BREKO
With the progressive deployment of fibre networks throughout Europe, network operators will need to review their business models. How integrated should they be to maximize value? Should they be fully integrated or should they separate infrastructure and service provider business to stimulate competition and “fill the pipe” – like it is happening in numerous markets. These new market developments will likely lead to closer collaborations between network operators and ISP’s to make economies of scale while offering the most attractive services to customers. In this workshop, we will explore how this shifting telecommunications industry will look like in a few years, and what the challenges and opportunities are, both for network operators as well as ISP’s. Finally, we will also explore how investors perceive this shifting telecommunications market, and how the industry will be able to attract necessary fundings in the future.
